Granting Guidelines
Arts and cultural groups that regularly perform or exhibit in the South Hampton Roads area are eligible to apply for Arts Alliance grants. Applicants must perform or exhibit in Chesapeake, Franklin, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, or Virginia Beach, or in Isle of Wight or Southampton counties. Applicants must be non-profits with 501 (c) (3) status from the Internal Revenue Service and have fine arts as their primary mission.
Applications for Arts Alliance's 2026 grant program are now closed. The 2027 grant cycle will open in December 2026. We look forward to welcoming applications later this year.
Recipients
In 2026 Arts Alliance awarded more than $816,000 to arts and cultural groups that regularly perform or exhibit in South Hampton Roads. Since 1987 Arts Alliance has contributed over $26 million to area arts and cultural organizations.
